Digital Flower
In this tutorial I will teach you how to create a Digital Flower, which basically consists of blending effects along with filters and it will look beautiful, as in the preview shown below:

Step 1 :
Start out by creating a 500 x 500 pixels document.

Step 2 :
Set Foreground color to #80000C, the Background Color to #FFFFFF

Step 3 :
Fill the document using the Paint Bucket Tool. Now you should have something like this:

Step 4:
Create a new layer, hit ‘D‘ on your keyboard.

Step 5:
Now go to Filter->Render->Clouds, Now you should have something like this:

Step 6:
Now go to Filter->Distort->Pinch. Use these settings:

Now you should have something like this:

Step 7:
Hit Ctrl+F, and now you should have something like this:

Step 8 :
Now go to Filter->Render->Lighting Effects

Now you should have something like this:

Step 9 :
now go to Filter->Sketch->Chrome

Click OK. Now you should have something like this:

Step 10:
Change the blending mode for the new layer to Linear Light
Final Result

sorry mate, i dont really like filter tuts.
Nice final though, just feels like you cant take any credit yourself you know. I feel photoshop is only a tool, not something that should make the art for you.

@vegar: I partially agree on what you are saying. However, I feel that the filters may be used in combination with your art to enhance it visually. I guess what I’m trying to say is: Don’t use only Photoshop’s filters and then think you have created something artistic. Use it in combination with your other artwork. I for one think this tutorial is great, and that it may be used to create a cool background for a future artwork of mine.

I don’t really agree with what vegar said. What’s with the rule of not using filters? We’re not living in the renaissance age anymore, bro. We are blessed with modern and easy tools to work with. Why shouldn’t we use them?
